FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ's)

BeechTree Partners answers just about any question you might want to ask about what it does, how it works and how you can benefit.

How does BeechTree Partners work?
BeechTree Partners helps you make intelligent search, recruitment and human capital decisions. From preparing your organization for a major transition to finding the right candidates, we can streamline a complicated, often overwhelming task. The result is an eager, dedicated professional in your workplace and a fresh start for your business. BeechTree Partners works with organizations to find the best professional to fill a vacancy or new business opportunity. We forward profiles to you only when a candidate’s credentials and experience meet your qualifications and the needs of your culture.

What does BeechTree Partners add to our internal search and recruitment process?
BeechTree Partners engages in active, not passive search. It recruits candidates who are busy, happy and have better things to do than page or scroll through classified ads or job Web sites. We conduct targeted market research and make active calls to draw interest to your opportunity. We build relationships with potential candidates, as well as with networks of referral sources and opinion leaders. Another reason for hiring BeechTree Partners is our ability to do an objective assessment of your organization’s search, recruiting and human capital needs. The result is that you get a better feeling for where your organization stands and where it’s headed.

What types of searches does BeechTree Partners do?
The majority of our searches are within the healthcare, financial services, information technology and not-for-profits. Within healthcare, BeechTree has done everything from managed care, behavioral health, long-term care and medical devices, to disease management, life sciences and health systems. We also fill all types of positions--from senior executive and executive management, to sales, marketing, finance and medical leadership.

Will BeechTree Partners advertise the position?
BeechTree Partners is happy to support its clients in the design and placement of ads as a component of a search and recruitment strategy. With decades of cumulative experience in search and recruitment, BeechTree knows and understands the publications and Web sites that candidates view and read. Our services include journal, magazine, newsletter and Web site recommendations, as well as actual ad placements. While many successful search and recruitment programs are ad free, ads can create positive position “buzz” about a position and build organizational awareness. As a result, candidates may be more likely to respond to a recruiter’s calls.

What if we’re disappointed in the first few candidates?
BeechTree Partners wants to find the person who suits your needs. If the first few candidates don’t fit your requirements, we can recalibrate what you need and want. Depending on the market, we may suggest changes in the salary and benefit package or in candidate requirements. BeechTree Partners will keep looking until the mission is accomplished.

How long does the recruiting process take?
BeechTree Partners has discovered that it can complete the majority of its searches within 55 days.

Who do you report to once you take on a search engagement or recruiting assignment?
BeechTree Partners can accommodate any reporting structure or relationship. We always touch base with clients to provide feedback on progress, delays or barriers. We may report to a candidate’s future supervisor, a vice-president of human resources or a committee or board.

What is retained recruiting? What is a contingency recruiting? Do you do both?
BeechTree Partners is committed exclusively to retained search. If an organization chooses the retained search option, it works with a firm such as BeechTree in moving through each stage of the hiring process—from initial search strategy and screening, to employment offer and onboarding. Working with your organization as a partner, consultant and advisor, BeechTree meets all candidates personally and provides in-depth evaluations before presenting you with a list of the most qualified. Retained search firms such as BeechTree typically work with more senior-level candidates. If you choose the contingency search option, the firm will typically operate through a non-exclusive relationship and fill lower-level positions, but without the in-depth interviewing and evaluation common to retained search. As a candidate you may want to evaluate both retained and contingency firms based on factors such as industry expertise, functional strengths and geographic specialization. Lower-level candidates often go through contingency firms. Moreover, contingency firms tend to have more positions available than retained search firms.

I’m a candidate. How many search firms can I work with?
You can work with as many search firms as you like. However, before you send out a string of resumes, think strategically about your situation. Working with many different search firms is the equivalent of trying to shoot with a shotgun instead of a rifle. Step back and ask yourself some questions. What level of position are you seeking? Which search firms chosen work at that level and in your specific area of expertise? If you are already a senior-level executive, you may want to select two retained search firms—each of which has a strong reputation in the industry and will represent you with integrity. If you choose too many search firms, you run the risk of being too exposed or over-discussed. The most sought after senior executives tend to operate “under the radar.”

What contacts does BeechTree Partners have?
Having worked in financial services, healthcare, not-for-profits and information technology for a combined total of 60 years, BeechTree Partners has developed multiple contacts and relationships with societies, associations, for-profit companies, publishers and government agencies. We estimate that BeechTree’s networking and outreach have generated a network of more than 10, 000 professionals.

This whole process seems like a lot of money. How can an organization like mine afford your services?
