WellPoint Appoints Ren Elder as President, Pharmacy Benefit Management and Senior Vice President for WellPoint
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.--PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX--WellPoint, Inc. (WLP) today announced the appointment of Renwyck "Ren" Elder as President, Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) and Senior Vice President of WellPoint. In this role, Elder will be responsible for developing and executing WellPoint's strategic direction and industry-transforming capabilities in pharmacy benefit management.

Elder has held extensive leadership roles throughout his career in pharmacy network development and management, provider management, pharmacy program analysis and client analytics, product development and clinical management. He recently comes from AdvancePCS (now Caremark Rx) where he held a range of leadership positions in the areas of pharmacy network strategies, strategic business consulting, and clinical services.
Elder is an active member of many professional affiliations including the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, National Association of Chain Drug Stores and National Counsel on Prescription Drug Programs. Elder holds an MBA and a BS in Pharmacy.
